SUM 41!!!

Sum 41 is a band that started back in 1996 and was originally composed of band members Deryck Whibley (Lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Cone McCaslin (bass guitar and backing vocals), Steve Jocz (drums, and backing vocals, and Dave Baksh (lead guitar and backing vocals).  Dave Baksh (Second from left) split from the band back around 2006 and Tom Thacker now takes his place as lead guitarist, backing vocals and keyboardist.

You may recognize Sum 41 from their hits Fat Lip, In Too Deep, The Hell Song and Still Waiting.  Underclass Hero is the most recent CD that Sum 41 released without Dave.

My cousins first introduced me to Sum 41.  When I heard "In Too Deep" I knew the song but didn't realize it was by them!  Immediately after that I fell in love with their music.  When Dave left the band, many people thought it would be the end of them, and I had my doubts.  Underclass Hero was highly anticipated by fans (like me) but was a bit of a disappointment when it came out.  I think this is because a lot of the songs didn't have the same sound that sum 41 lovers new and loved.  It was same old same old, the type of stuff you hear from comeback bands...

Today I checked out their website just to see what they've been up to...and low and behold they're working on a new CD!!!!  Today was actually there first rehearsal!!!!   All there CD's have different sounds so who knows what sound this one could have!  I'm leaning towards more of a heavier sound since they covered Metallica's "Enter Sandman" during The Offspring's recent tour (another band worth checking out!!!)

So I guess we'll just have to wait and see what Sum 41 puts out this time!
